SOPAR-Bala Vikasa is a non-profit organisation that promotes sustainable development in India. The organization's approach is to help communities help themselves by providing villages and rural communities with the tools and resources necessary to transform the lives of their inhabitants. In doing so, the organization encourages Canadians to become global citizens who are aware of international challenges. The organisation, which has been in existence since 1977, has, among other things, facilitated access to clean water for more than 6 million people.
